Ever since Nicole had moved to Lakecrest City, she had been restless non-stop for a good long while. Not being an agent anymore didn't exactly help. But oh well, it wasn't like it was a job worth missing, when she really thought about it. Nicole had come to Lakecrest City on basically a whim... After that shitshow with the Werewolf a couple of weeks back had scarred her immensly, so coming away from her old home to stop the flood of horrific memories to resurface. That's when she had found the Children of the forest... they helped her getting accustomed to her own powers, and now, they were basically family. Yeah, family. Considering her actual parents didn't give a shit about her anymore... Oh well. Anyway, enough dwelling in the past.
"Huff, Huff." Nicole was currently on a light jog through the park, if only to get something to do. Sitting still all day in front of a computer, looking for jobs wasn't exactly... fun, nor good for your health. Or perhaps she just did this out of habit. Who knows. Cardio, on the other hand, made her feel much more clear-headed and less mentally exhausted. The smell of the woods, the bird's chirping. Yeap, this was life. She kicked up a little bit of dust and gravel as she sprinted by, trying to keep herself at a decent pace. Not to quick to wear herself out, and yet just fast enough that it was effective cardio training. The butter-zone, if you will. Normally, she would be wearing one of her various suits, today, she was dressed up in a loose, baggy jogging outfit, navy blue in color. Just when she had finished her second lap around the park, she stopped at a nearby bench, to get some water to drink. "Phew..." The woman glanced at her clock. 1 hour and 37 minutes... Not bad. A pleased, yet exhausted smile made it's way across her face before she wiped her forehead with her left hand, and took a sip out of the green water bottle she had brought with her...

Spring, what an excellent season. The birds chirping, the smell of the grass, the feeling of life in the air, the vibrant renewal after a harsh winter, all of these thing and more contributed to the beauty of the season. It was the perfect time for leisurely strolls through the woods, the weather was neither too cold, nor too warm, and the plants were all in bloom, trying their hardest to survive and thrive after the harsh winter. The weather was especially perfect today, barely a cloud in the sky, and there was a pleasant breeze that blew through my hair and against my skin, giving such a relaxing feeling. I definitely was glad I had decided to take a walk today, and especially glad that my cute little Lili had decided to come with. She often kept so herself far too often, often opting to not go anywhere where she might meet too many people. I was overjoyed when she had accepted to go out for this walk with me, after all, company only made a stroll like this more pleasant, and it was definitely good for Lili, even if she did not know it. The sun on her skin, the wind in her hair, and the people she would meet would all help her feel much better than she would normally. The poor girl really did need to open up more, she was such a nice person, but she was always so cold when she first meets people that she often kept them from getting to know the cute girl underneath. And her smile was just so beautiful, if just as rare. When Ii was around her, I felt the need to get her to smile, to make her happy. She very much seemed to have had a terrible past, like many of the less fortunate hybrids in the world. Such sadness pains me when I see it, Hybrids are no different from anyone else, but nobody really realizes it, and they create a self fulfilling prophecy by treating them unkindly, resulting in only resentment in return.
I shook my head a bit, dismissing such negative thoughts from my mind, after all, it simply would not do to ruin the nice walk we were having by brooding over such unpleasant things. After all, it was important time I could be using to try and soothe the wounds on poor Lili's heart and try to get her to become more sociable. I decided that I would get Lili to be more sociable today for sure! I had a few things in mind about how to coax her into it, but one especially came to mind. She very much was easily bribed with food. Perhaps due to her canine nature, she responded well to food as a reward, as well as a bit of physical affection, such as a nice head rub. She always looked so content when I patted her head, indeed, that was one of the few times I would see her give a bit of a smile.
As we continued our walk in silence, simply enjoying each others company and the splendor of nature, I decided to speak, a bit to the girl to see how she was enjoying our day out. "It sure is a nice day out, is it not, Lili? Spring truly is one of the best seasons, and such a good day is only made better with company,. I am quite glad you decided to come with me today, I was rather afraid that you might decline to come with," I said, looking over to the wolf girl who walked slightly behind and to the side of me. "Either way, I am just glad that you did accept, is there anywhere you would like to go while we are out? I can imagine you might be getting a bit hungry, after all we have been walking out here for a while now. Is there any place in particular you would like to eat?" I continued to chat like this with my dear Lili for a while as we continued to walk, but after a while, something else caught my attention, a chance that I was looking for!
As for what that chance was, it was an opportunity to get Lili to talk to someone, perhaps. Up ahead, there was a woman who seemed to be resting after perhaps doing a jog, if her attire was anything to go on. She had maroon hair and she was wearing a navy blue jogging outfit, and there was...something about her that reminded me a bit of the aura around Lili. I was not sure what, but perhaps I would be able to better tell if I interacted with her. Deciding to do just that, I walked over to the woman on the bench and decided to strike up a bit of conversation with her, and try to get Lili involved as well.
"Hello there miss, quite the nice day we are having, is it not?" I asked, giving the woman a very bright smile as I did, "I do not wish to be rude and take up too much of your time, but you seem rather familiar with the area. You see, myself and my partner here just moved here recently for work, and were wondering if there were any way you could perhaps tell us a bit about the area? I hope it is not too much to ask. Oh, and where are my manners, I am Arwen Drake, and this is my partner, Lili von Brandt, say hello Lili. If it would not be too much trouble, could I perhaps inquire as to your name as well?" I finished, trying my best to politely speak to the stranger in front of me. It wasn't really the reason I had originally called out to her, but it was indeed something that she could help with. After all, Lili and I hadn't moved here too long ago, and someone who would be jogging through the woods here likely would know a thing or two about the city.
With my piece said, I simply waited for Lili to introduce herself and for the woman to respond, hopefully favorably.

Unlike her compatriot, Lili was not quite so in love with the weather – she enjoyed the outdoors more than her ‘handler’ believed, having grew up on a farm and all, but… she was certainly more a Winter-loving soul; an unsurprising fact given her lupine nature. But yet, here she was; quietly following her comrade in her usual cutesy garb… she liked to have walks. No, that wasn’t quite true – she liked to have walks with Arwen. She wouldn’t want Arwen to walk without her, in fact. Together, they seemed like just a pair of odd girls on a walk, with a bit of a one-sided chat going on… but in truth, it was perhaps more like Arwen was taking the hybrid out for a wander around the park akin to a pet. And yet… that sort of made the little wolf happy. Something deep down appreciated it… For the moment, Lili wasn’t exactly gloomy, but she wasn’t going to be giving Arwen that promised smile in any hurry – she was simply content; giving an expressionless face and a cold demeanour as usual as she followed the elven soul. The occasional passers-by would make Lili sweep around to the opposite side of Arwen, though; not appreciating the company just as the fellow hybrid had predicted. Not that she didn’t like people, she just didn’t really like having company… beyond a certain blonde, anyway. ”I like walking. So, I’m happy.” replied the silver-haired girl to Arwen’s musings; as straight-forward as ever – although despite her words she wasn’t smiling or the like. That sort of thing was a bit hard. ”You smell nice today.”But, Arwen’s next words would indeed earn a smile – if Lili had been in a her more feral form, she’d see the canine’s ears prop up with interest upon hearing the promise of food. ”Mm! Food would be good. I want meat.” said Lili simply, inwardly hoping for fast food – but not quite daring enough to run the suggestion by Arwen. As such a simple soul, she found the tastes of typical fast food to be heavenly… especially when it came to meats. Unfortunately, Arwen had far more sophisticated tastes, and didn’t often let the wolf get her way… with anyone else, Lili would be comfortable with suggesting it anyway, but Arwen’s lecturing always made her feel like crying… Suddenly, her hopes were dashed, though – a forced social encounter! Now, Lili did not dislike talking or anything so blunt as that; she just didn’t like pointless conversation like this. It made her feel on edge. And yet, Arwen dragged her into them all too often… grmph, couldn’t they just go home instead? Something nice to eat, then she could snooze on the couch or maybe just listen to Arwen talk for a while… the would-be werewolf just twitched as she was forced into the conversation, agitated by her own canine attitude. Yet, in this case, the stranger seemed a touch familiar – they smelt… odd. Unique? Did that make sense? They smelt like an individual; something that flicked switches in Lili’s brain. Someone in something, but someone who was someone. Hm. Upon being prompted to introduce herself, Lili would give her quiet addition to the conversation; as if scripted. Perhaps literally scripted, given Arwen’s efforts. ”I’m Lili. Hi.” stated the short girl simply, seeming immediately distracted again upon making her comment – so many other smells and thoughts to keep up with, so focussing on a conversation was just too hard… oh, look! Someone was taking a dog for a walk! It was cute! Um, was that the smell of Chinese in the distance…? Hm, and a hint of ash… a walk was nice for all this, but she couldn’t deal with a conversation alongside it all.

Nicole looked up when the two women approached her. "Hm? Oh yeah, it really is." She answered, somewhat awkwardly. Why did it always have to be the weather that was the conversation starter nowadays? Well, since she really didn't have anything better to do, aside from continuing her jog... And she asked Nicole of all people? "Oh, new folks, eh?" She asked, returning the smile with one of her own. "Well, depends on what you wish to know. I don't really know everything here, considering I moved here myself... like what, 4-5 months ago?" The woman said thoughtfully. Had really five months gone by already? Now that she really thought about it, that's quite a while ago... "Nice to meet you two. The name's Nicole Henley." She started... Oy vey, how was this even gonna go? The only places she really knew like the back of her hand was the park, and the area around her own home, but aside from that... not much at all. "Well... I'm not much for describing things... but I can show you two around a bit if you'd like?" Nicole said with a light smile. "I know a handful of places around the residential area, resturants, convenience stores and all that... Just the bare necessities." They really were better off asking someone else on these matters, if they were planning on doing some major sightseeing, and the like... or something else, like going to the movies. Now that Nicole got a good look of the two, they did look sort of peculiar... but Nicole barely payed that any mind, caution aside, considering how "Not Normal" she was herself, seeing Mystics around wasn't exactly "Rare" for her.

It seems the woman was not too much of a long time resident either, only having lived here for a few months. Though, that was definitely far better than myself and Lili, who had only moved here in the last week or so. So any knowledge she had would definitely be worthwhile, as we had next to none ourselves. She introduced herself as Nicole Henley, a fine name for a woman like herself. She spoke in a far different accent than myself, much more suited to our former colony. She obviously was a native of this country, but not from around here. If I recall correctly, her accent had more of a southern drawl to it compared to the way natives of the western regions of our former colony. Though that was enough of that speculation, it wouldn't do to get too distracted while such a nice person was talking to me.
She offered to take us for a walk around to the places she knew, and apologized for not being the best at describing things, giving a nice smile as she did. There as no need to apologize though, after all, she was offering far more than I was expecting. Honestly, I was hoping to get maybe some directions and recommendations for places to go, but an offer fof a tour by a local? That was far better than what I had hoped for indeed!
Lili was rather laconic as usual when she introduced herself, giving the absolute bare minimum of an introduction. It was expected, but couldn't the girl give a bit more of a polite greeting? I know she was capable of it, after all. Mou, for sure this cute girl could be such a handful at times, especially when social interactions were involved! I resolved myself to let her know that such simplistic greetings simply would not do in the future, after all, a proper lady ought to be proper and gracious when she speaks, and especially when she is introducing herself to new people.
After listening to her list off the various areas that she could show us to, it seemed like she took notice of the fact that we were not quite normal. though it did seem like she didn't pay it any mind. It was nice to see someone without too much prejudice against mystic kind, perhaps she was one herself? That would explain the odd feeling I got from her, but other than that she didn't particular give off the aura of anything more than a human. Strange indeed.
Deciding that it seemed like she had finished talking, I put on a cheerful smile and responded to Nicole, "It is an absolute pleasure to meet you Miss Nicole, and that is quite the lovely name you have I must say. I truly do appreciate your offer to show us around. We just recently moved here about a week or so ago due to our work relocating us. So whatever you can show us would be of a great help, after all we know next to nothing ourselves," I said, giving the woman a bright smile as I did so."We would very much appreciate it if you took time out of your day to show us around, even to just the bare necessities. Though I could not possibly ask you to do this fo free, as we hardly know you and are probably imposing heavily, so how about I treat you to lunch while we are out? Does this sound acceptable to you, Miss Nicole?" I offered, hoping that she would take me up on it. Even if she was offering to do it for free, there was no way my conscience would allow it. Good acts ought to be rewarded, after all.
With the offer set, I simply waited to see how she would respond to my offer.

While Arwen and the woman chatted, Lili was entirely distracted by the park around the group – however, eventually the novelty at staring at people’s pets wore off a bit. Finally the werewolf’s patience was wearing thin… she wanted a nice day out with Arwen; not any of this mess. Other people were boring… the girl’s anxiety quickly became clear as she sidled up against her compatriot, slightly leaning on her back. She wanted to go home now, and she was hungry too! She was surely acting childish, but she just wanted to spend time with Arwen right now… Lili’s anxiety would eventually compel them to leave Arwen alone, clearly not getting the attention she wanted – instead, she’d go back to just wandering around in circles; obviously utterly bored by the situation. But, she would soon be distracted as she hovered near Nicole – that scent again, but different this time! She had not smelled this before. She was all too curious. Simply marching right into the lady’s personal space, Lili gently sniffed at her clothing… the scent of sweat was a bit overbearing, but there was certainly something interesting at hand here. ”You smell of fur.” remarked the hybrid simply, before stepping away again to go back to leaning on Arwen; just about begging for attention now that she’d lost her one new distraction. Maybe she’d need to take more drastic measures… she didn’t like hassling Arwen, but this really was grating on her nerves a bit. She wanted to eat! She might start gnawing on Arwen’s waist if she left Lili for too long… oh well, at least the half-elf was pretty to look at. Stepping away from the blonde, Lili seemed to settle on just ogling her instead to entertain herself… ah, she really was a little jealous…

Nicole smiled sheepishly at Arwen's comment about her name. "Oh, geez... Thank you." The woman replied chipperly. "Oh, don't mention it. I'll gladly show you two around. Any bit I can help, the better." Well, with what limited knowledge she had of the city's layout... she could probably show them around fairly well... Probably. "Oh, you're that new here? Well then. You'll like it here in Lakecrest, most surely." Just last week, eh? "So, if it's not too much to ask, where do you two come from?" The accent Arwen spoke in told her britain, but she was better off asking. Of course, they didn't have to tell her anything if they wished to remain silent on the matter. She wouldn't hold it against them.
"Oh, it's really not Necessary, Arwen. But if you insist..." Nicole said with a light wave of her hand. "It's really kind of you." Yeah, and now that she mentioned it, Nicole found herself to be quite famished as well... Running around the park sure ate up a lot of her energy. Maybe taking a break and eating something wouldn't be too bad. The red-head would take one more sip from her water bottle, before Lili snuck up in front of her, uncomfortably close. It took the woman every ounce of willpower she had not to push the intruder away, but she managed to do so... "Fur...?" Nicole looked at Lili with a raised eyebrow as the latter returned to Arwen's side... That had been... odd, to say the least. "A-Anyway!" She would continue awkwardly. "Shall we get going?"

Nicole seemed to hesitate at accepting my offer a bit before quickly accepting my proposal. That was simply most splendid! Food definitely was best with more people, that was for sure She had said that she was glad to show us around, even before I offered the reward. She seemed like quite the kind soul, that was for sure. It simply reinforced my belief that humans were fundamentally good. After all, I met so many nice people in the world who were willing to do so much for others out of the kindness of their hearts. Sadly, this often was suppressed by other, more intense emotions, especially fear. Such was the situation for many of the more unfortunate hybrids in the world, such as my dear Lili. They were misunderstood and feared because they were "too different" from the normal human, and were shunned as a result of it. I quickly shook off this train of thought however, it simply would not do to get bogged down in thoughts like that while I was talking to somebody.
She also had asked where we had been beforehand, but said she didn't want to pry if it was too much to ask. Deciding it was fine to say, after all, it didn't really matter if people knew about them, the lid had been blown on the supernatural long before I had been born after all. Deciding I would give her a rather full answer, I began to respond. "Ah yes, its no big deal really. I used to live in the south of England on my family's estate. But more recently, I was living in the Rocky Mountains at the IACSB main headquarters, where I met Lili. We both work for them, in the SID and since I am a mage and she is a melee fighter, we were quite naturally paired together to compliment our own individual strengths," I said, giving the rather brief version of our history together. After all, it wouldn't do to just go off on a story in the middle of the conversation, that would be rather inexcusably rude.
Unfortunately, speaking of inexcusable rudeness, Lili decided to let her werewolf side get the better of her, and she began to smell Nicole, and made the rather odd comment that she smelled of fur. Perhaps she had pets? No matter, now was not the time to think about it. After all, I had to apologize for Lili's behavior and chastise her. "Lili...What have I told you about smelling people without asking and without any explanation? Apologize to Nicole, that was rather rude of you," I said, staring rather sternly at Lili and wagging my finger at her before turning back to Nicole.
"I am truly sorry for Lili's behavior. She is a werewolf hybrid and sometimes she lets her instincts get the better of her. I would truly appreciate it if you could forgive her for her rudeness, after all, its really hard for her to fight her instincts sometimes," I said, interceding on my partner's behalf before continuing, "If you would not mind, perhaps you could lead us to a nice place to eat to start with? I think Lili is acting this way because she is hungry. she should calm down a bit with some nice food. If so, then please lead the way, and I will follow right behind you," I said, giving her a smile as I did so.
With that settled, I simply waited to follow the woman and would do so if she began to take us on our tour.

Nicole’s restraint was noticed by Lili, watching the lady cautiously – she clearly wasn’t used to having people near her, which was… interesting? Well, it was something, at least. But alas, her curiosity was swiftly squashed by Arwen; her scolding words making the poor hybrid look utterly heartbroken. With an expression like a guilty child, the little wolf squirmed on the spot as she was chastised; frowning meekly. ”O-Oh, I’m sorry…” murmured the would-be werewolf, albeit barely in Nicole’s direction – she was clearly too busy licking her wounds to give her words too much thought. ”Ah… do you think my instincts are in the way right now…?” asked the grey-haired girl quietly to her elven partner, recognising her words as a warning – perhaps she was less in control than she thought, despite still being in fully human form. Arwen knew best, after all. Well, except when she didn’t. ”I can take a shot, if you want…” remarked Lili softly, still acting all guilty and sad – even the promise of food didn’t seem to be perking her up in any hurry. She wanted to beg Arwen for forgiveness right now…! Giving a tiny whine like a lonely puppy, the wolf would just lean up against her master for the moment; waiting expectantly for more direction from Arwen – however, she’d soon be distracted by rubbing her head, looking all the more unhappy. ”Urgh… my head hurts…” sulked the girl, before shaking herself down in a moment of frustration; albeit still seeming as moody as before after her canine outburst. ”Grr… it’s hot…” grumbled the werewolf wannabe, clearly a bit lost to her feral nature in the midst of her frustration.

South of England, eh? So that's where she came from originally? "Ah, that explains your accent. " Nicole said with a light nod. "I'm from North Carolina myself. Not all that interesting really. The town's nice and all sure, but... for reasons I won't go into now, I left." Of course, she could go back there whenever she wanted to, but did she really want to return there? To her old life? Where people actually knew her for what she was, and resented her for it. Nicole didn't want any of that... Lakecrest had fortunately been a lot better about that. Maybe it was just how... supernatural the place was that made the inhabitants more accustomed to mystics? Or had she just been lucky and avoided most of the folks that really didn't like her kind...?
"Oh, don't worry about it. It's quite alright." Nicole replied with a sheepish smile. Of course, it had been a bit intrusive of the hybrid, but then again... given what Arwen had just told her about Lili, it was understandable. "Getting hungry, eh? Alright, let's not waste anymore time then." The woman smiled, as she stood up and began leading the way to a resturant not too far away from the park, only being a 15 minute walk or so from there. A small, yet cozy little resturant called 'The Serenade". Of course, the place had both indoor, and outdoor serving. Nothing all that fancy, but the food they served here was top-notch. Everything from hamburgers to more expensive things like barbecue and various kinds of chicken meals and the like was served here. "I actually eat here more often than I care to admit. I'm a lousy cook myself, and I just love the food they serve here." Nicole said with a light clap of her hands. "Now, do you prefer to sit in- or outdoors?"

Following along after Nicole, we made our way through the city towards a nearby restaurant of her choosing. It was a very lovely day out still, so the walk was rather nice. I preferred walking through a woodland or other natural space more than I did a city, but it had its perks as well. I saw so many different kinds of people, living their lives among each other, with the occasional Mystic Kind mixed into the crowd. No Vampires at least as far I could tell, unless there were some Tepes mixed among them I could not see.
After a fifteen minute walk, with Lili clinging close to me as usual, we finally reached the restaurant we were looking for. It had a sign above it that indicated the nae of the restaurant was "The Serenade"/ It appeared to be a well furnished place from what I could tell, with seating and waiters both indoors and outdoors. As I was thinking that I definitely wanted to eat outdoors, after all this was quite a lovely day, Nicole asked me whether I wanted to eat inside or outside, which was a very easy question to answer for me, and in response I turned to her and said, with a smile, "I would prefer to dine outside, after all, it is such a nice day out, how could one eat inside with this fine weather?"
With that settled, I flagged down a waiter and quite politely asked him to please show us to an outdoor seat, and informed him that we were a party of three. He quickly showed us to a well crafted outdoor table with a large sun umbrella stuck in the middle to provide some shade. Deciding to sit with the sun to my back without any of the shade on me to enjoy the warmth of the spring sun, I quickly took a seat in my preferred spot, and waited until my compatriots took their seats.
As they did, the waiter came back with some menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Noticing the lack of any sort of good tea on the menu, I simply said that I did not want anything and fished around in my purse for my portable tea mug and my thermos, pouring myself a cup of English afternoon tea while the other two placed their drink orders.
After the two put their own drink orders in, the waiter left and I decided to strike up a bit of conversation with Nicole,"So you said you are from North Carolina, right? If I recall correctly that was part of the middle colonies. How did you like living there?" I asked, oblivious to the potential offense I might have caused by referring to it as being part of the middle colonies. "It's too bad that you're not too great of a cook. If you would like to fix that flaw, I would be glad to assist you in learning to cook. I am rather proud of my cooking, and rather than go on about my cooking is, I recommend asking Lili about it, she is rather fond of it," I said, trying to drag Lili into the conversation as well.
With that all said, I began to look through the menu while I waited for the two of them to respond, trying to decide what to order.

While she still followed the other two, Lili was still as visibly agitated as before; occasionally twitching and grumbling while she still insisted on clinging to her compatriot – without Arwen’s approval she wasn’t going to use one of her precious injections, but she certainly seemed irate without it. Maybe that just came with having company she was insecure around, though. She’d at least keep in step with the others, albeit seeming a bit uninterested in the restaurant. It wasn’t quite her type… Despite her anxiety, the would-be werewolf sat down beside the rest of her company as expected; although it seemed almost like she was doing it out of expectation rather than interest; like a dog following its owner, indeed. The sunshine was nice, and Arwen’s presence was as pleasant as always… but she really didn’t care for this kind of outing and conversation. Zoning out, Lili just stared at Arwen as she talked, not really listening to her words at all. She was just so pretty in the sun light this… the hybrid just completely ignored the waiter's presence, too disinterested in anything but Arwen to care to order at all. Unfortunately, her newfound serenity was short-lived – something about cooking? ”Oh… I like cooking things rare, since it’s often hard to get that right. But, sometimes it makes me look bad at work, because they all think the blood stains are from my job instead. Not that I don’t get blood stains from work as well, but I’m a professional, so I don’t really believe in looking too messy while on business…” mused Lili in return, seeming somewhat more talkative now that a subject that she knew about came up… even though she completely misread the situation. But, then she finally turned to Nicole – as expressionless as always, but almost a little more… intense. ”…what’s your job?”

Nicole nodded in response to Arwen. Outdoors it was then. Either way wouldn't have mattered much for the werewolf in the end. "Yeah, it would be a shame to not take all this in now, wouldn't it?" The woman replied with a light chuckle before showing her cohorts the way to an unoccupied table, after which she promptly sat down herself on one of the white chairs. As Nicole expected, it didn't take the waiter long at all to notice them. He walked over to their table at a brisk pace, with a gentle, yet somewhat stressed look on his face. "Yes, what will it be, ladies?" He asked politely, as he gave the three of them a menu each. Nicole flipped through the pages, looking for something that would fill her hungry stomach. She eventually settled on spaghetti bolognese and a glass of carbonated water. "I'll just take a some carbonated water, and a spaghetti bolognese, thank you." She replied to the waiter as she returned her menu with a smile, before looking at the other two. "And what about you two?"
Colonies? Certainly an... odd name for the southern part of the States, but whatever. No need to start a fuzz about that here... "It's nice, I guess?" Nicole answered with a light shrug. "The area itself isn't that bad. Charlotte is a rather nice city, when you really think about it. I just... didn't grow up under the best circumstances, let's just leave it at that." Yeah, her parents was the last thing she wanted to bring up now. Even if Arwen would inquire more information on the subject, Nicole would remain shut as a clam regarding that... There wasn't that many people who knew about her abusive parents, and her running away from home, and the Ex-Agent wished for it to stay that way for a while to come... Perhaps one day, she could find someone to confide in, but as it stood right now, it was a secret best kept to herself.
"Oh, that's really kind of you, Arwen. I'll take you up on that offer someday, I'm sure." The woman said in a chipper tone. Her cooking could really use some help. Not that the food she cooked was inedible... but it was on the cusp of it, and could use some serious improvement.
Okay, now Lili's response to that was... rather random. It seemed like she hadn't followed the conversation at all until then, so she lacked the context. Did she really space out that easily. "My Job...?" Nicole raised an eyebrow at Lili. She suddenly got very straightforward and interested. Almost creepily so. Regardless, she'd look the hybrid in the eyes. "Right now? I'm actually unemployed at present. I'm still looking for a job though." Regarding her past profession... she would stay silent on the subject. Money wasn't necessarily an issue for her at the moment, considering how much there was left on her bank account... but of course, she would need a new job eventually. Oy vey.

Seeing that the waiter came back, I decided to place my order, ordering a rather delicious sounding portion of foie gras, not paying too much attention to how much it cost, and ordering the biggest hamburger they had with plenty of toppings on it for Lili, making sure to take her taste into account while getting some greens on it for her to balance out the nutrition of the meal. I made sure to order some french fries as well for her before returning to my tea while I waited for the food to arrive.
Nicole seemed to take the question rather well, describing her home area rather fondly, though she mentioned that her childhood wasn't all that great. I didn't feel the need to pry, we had just met her and she wasn't a coworker, so I left it that. If she wanted to tell us she would when she felt comfortable doing so. She also seemed rather receptive to the notion of taking cooking lessons from me, which was absolutely fantastic. The only thing I loved more than making food for people when it came to cooking was to teach others how to cook as well. I was quite delighted by this revelation and let it be known, saying "That is something I must say I will be looking forward to as well, Nicole. I must say I love teaching people to cook, I've started to teach Lili, but at the moment I have decided to focus on teaching her how to properly brew tea, after all its a bit easier and reinforces skills like precision and paying close attention to what you are doing, both of which are important when you are cooking," I said, going a bit off into a tangent before finishing.
It seemed that Lili was really zoning in and out of it, perhaps she was having a hard time with her instincts due to all the smells and things around? Perhaps it was best if I told her to take one of her shots, though I wanted to make sure I was a bit discreet about it since someone else is around and I didn't want to embarrass her too much with it. "Lili, are you okay? You seem a bit out of it, would you like some help with that? Or are you fine to deal with it yourself?" I said, trying to send the message to use one of her syringes in a bit of a roundabout way, offering to help her do it as well. It wasn't the best solution, but I hoped it would get my message across without making it to obvious to the other people around what I was talking about.
She seemed to be a bit...off while talking to Nicole, but Nicole's response was a rather interesting one. Apparently she was unemployed at the moment and looking for a job, to which I had a bit of an idea to suggest. "Have you considered working for the IACSB? I think they are currently hiring new recruits, and you look fit enough to pass the physical. If you aren't the type to fight, I'm sure they have a job that suits you as well," I said, offering a suggestion to work for my current employer. With that said, I waited for the food to come and for both of their responses as I enjoyed my tea on this nice spring day.

Hearing Arwen make her order for her seemed to especially cheer up the wannabe were-wolf, practically jolting awake upon being given such an escape – food, food, and she didn’t have to do the talking herself~ Horay~! While she seemed about as emotionless as ever, the hybrid perked up just a little bit from the news, seeming a little more focussed now. Unfortunately, the cheer didn’t last too long… the stranger was staring at her. In the eyes. She was dangerous. Lili immediately recognised the hesitation, the intention – she was trying to intimidate her, wasn’t she? She didn’t like that. Not one bit. But, Arwen’s reassurance was right on time; ending the possible confrontation before it could start; although the hybrid still certainly had her suspicions. The effectively elven girl was a bit late on the offer, but the attention was very appreciated… though it did make Lili feel a bit weak, as well. She was doing a bad job… she wasn’t being a Good Girl! Oh no! She only got two shots a week from her prescription, so it was usually important to save them for missions or similarly tense situation, b-but Arwen was upset! Oh no! W-What did she do now? ”Yes! Please, Arwen!” blurted out Lili, sounding somewhere been exhausted and intense – attention from Arwen! She wanted it! Needles were nasty, but if it was Arwen, then surely it would be okay! Her heart pounded a little… what was this talk about jobs? She didn’t care! Arwen! Arwen! Thank you! ”I-Is that okay?” added the girl hastily after her sudden exclamation, feeling guilty for the outburst… but, this sort of thing was oh so important to her. ”I’m sorry.”
